Brad Joins Christmas Jam

Aerosmith guitarist joining Christmas Jam

Brad Whitford, guitarist with the legendary rock band Aerosmith, will join the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam Dec. 12 at the Asheville Civic Center.

Also, two jam veterans will return for the first time in years: Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh and Friends) and Jeff Austin (Yonder Mountain String Band).

And Collective Soul singer Ed Rowland will join the “Xmas Jam Band” on a few songs. The band was created by jam founder Warren Haynes to present many of the group’s guests.

More acts are still being added to the jam, according to the show’s web site www.xmasjam.com.

Acts that area already confirmed are Counting Crows, Ani DiFranco, Haynes’ own band Gov’t Mule, moe., George Porter, Eric Krasno, Nigel Hall and Adam Deitch and Stax Records singer William Bell, who is featured on the classics “Born Under A Bad Sign," “Everyday Is Like A Holiday," and “You Don't Miss Your Water."

Jam tickets are on sale at the Civic Center box office, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 251-5505. The cost is $55 plus various service charges.
