Mr, Sweet Emotion himself wants to hear from YOU! Haven't sent in questions to Tom yet? Watcha waitin' for?
If you guys have any questions or comments about Tom's on the road videos send them in (tom@aeroforceone.com) and once a week he'll pick out some questions to answer. Here's the first set...
1. How did you get the idea of filming onstage?
I'm always wishing I could remember all the little moments and thoughts that pop up from day to day. I always carry something to record on. Bringing a camera onstage is something I've done before. I'm just a little more organized about it for this tour.
2. Thanks for giving us some pretty cool clips from the road, any chance of getting one from your side of the stage when the curtain drops at the beginning of the show, I've been on the other side of the curtain many times just wondered what it's like from your side as the show kicks off. Hopefully you guys will get east of Montreal and north of Boston sometime soon!
I'll see if I can grab that. Meanwhile, let me just say that coming to Montreal would be great as it always has been before. I'm sure we'll get there at some point.
3. I was wondering how much of Steven do you actually listen to in a show through your monitor? Is there ever a moment (especially since he has gained his voice back about 5 years) where you are shocked or impressed by his voice this tour?
I have ST's voice loud and clear in my monitors. I'm shocked and impressed by his voice constantly.
4. I understand that you will be working on a project in NYC soon with drummer Ron Stewart! Can you tell me anything about the other musicians and your goals for this project?
I wish I knew what you're talking about. I must have missed that fax.
5. In your opinion What was the best concert in the whole tour?
I'd have to say Sao Paulo was a peak. The energy coming off the audience was thick and hot. Donington as well. 100,000 people endured hours of rain to see the show.
6. Apart from wanting to capture all the amazing moments, why else did you decide to record some videos?
I just hate to be the only one who experiences a unique moment. I don't have anything in mind except to take advantage of the fact that its relatively easy to capture something and then put it out to the fans within days. I love the fact that people are accustomed to seeing video for its immediacy as opposed to waiting a long time to see something that has perfect production values. (not that I mind that either).
7. Hey Tom how’s it going? I am a huge fan of Aerosmith and i'm really happy that you are making videos on the road with the band. I wanted to ask you, how was it meeting Slash?
I actually met Slash a long time ago and was one of the many who has had his hand crushed by his handshake. It was a blast seeing him at Donington when he came up to jam with Motorhead. We ducked behind the amps and had a quick catch-up before he went out and played. It's hard to describe the feeling of a moment like that when you just laugh and shake your head at the fact that we're all still doing it.
8. What is a must have item(s) for your dressing room while on tour?
Time. There's never enough of it.
