Week of 7/3 - Nadine S.
When did you first hear Aerosmith?
I first heard Aerosmith in 93’ at the age of 9; I was watching MTV and the Cryin’ video came on. At that age I was all about pop and R&B and wasn’t much for rock music yet, but I was mesmerized by the video and kept watching. I was young, but recognized good music when I heard it, Aerosmith became my favorite band that day.

What’s your favorite Aerosmith song?
You can’t REALLY expect me to be able to pick JUST one!? Well, Cryin’, it being the first I ever heard. Also: Dream On, Sweet Emotion, What it Takes, You see me Crying, Chip Away the Stone, Hole in My Soul, IDWMAT, Livin’ on the Edge, Rag Doll, Amazing, and Fly Away From Here. Oh and I really like their version of Train Kept a Rollin’. I was so happy that song made the set list for this tour!
Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.
I saw Aerosmith live in Cleveland a few weeks ago on June 19th …you know no big deal! It was my first Aerosmith show and my best friend came with me! Every previous tour landed when I was broke, so I had decided that no matter what, their next tour I was going. I saved my entire tax check and did it right by buying the wheels up package. I had 3rd row at the concert and my mind was blown from the moment Steven and Joe raised from the catwalk and began Draw the Line, no doubt the best concert I’ve ever been to. Steven’s voice was full force amazing since it was only the 2nd night of the tour and the band was on fire. There is something incredible about hearing songs you’ve loved since childhood live; even more so when it’s your favorite band. Besides the concert itself, going to the Q&A’s and hearing Joey, Brad and Tom answer questions was pretty freaking neat and then meeting Steven and Joe before the show was surreal. And later looking at the M&G photos on AF1 and seeing that Steven was wearing the necklace I made him in all the photos after mine…well that was pretty great too.
Give us your funniest Aerosmith story.
When it was time for the M&G in Cleveland I was beside myself, meeting Steven and Joe wasn’t ever something I thought would happen. We stood in a line in this back hallway waiting to meet them and when they arrived people were getting excited at the front of the line but I couldn’t see them yet. When the line moved up I saw Joe standing inside the curtain of the make-shift room and I freaked. I remember telling the couple in front of me: “OH MY GOSH there’s Joe Perry, he’s right there!” LOL as if they couldn’t see that. Anyways then I got even closer and saw Steven and… I. LOST. MY. MIND. My heart started racing, my mouth was dry… I was in full wig out mode. (I’ve had a crush on the guy since I was a kid and yeah I realize he’s 64 and I’m 28 and that’s probably pretty weird …but I can’t help it)
When it was my turn, I walked into the room and reached Joe first. I just stared at him and said, “Oh my Gosh.” (That seemed to be the phrase of the night for me; I’m usually not an air head, but whatever I just went with it) I’m sure Joe thought I was a complete weirdo, but he sort of smirked at me. Then when Steven turned and looked at me everything I wanted to tell him left me. I didn’t tell him how Aerosmith is my favorite band of 19 years, or that I think he has one of the best voices in the history of rock, or even that I’m really into fashion and have always loved the way he dresses….nope didn’t say any of that. Instead I say, “OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOU!” I guess in my dazed state that somehow summed things all up! He said something in response but I’m not even sure what it was. Steven pulled me beside him and I could feel his face up against the side of mine and I remember consciously telling myself to look at the camera. After the photo I somehow regained sanity and gave Steven the beaded cross necklace I had made him. He said, “Awe that’s sweet” thanked me and put it on. But he said he couldn’t wear it on stage because he might chip a tooth. I was thinking yeah, you better be careful with those teeth! ;-) Ha ha
