Week of 8/7 - Thomas H.

When did you first hear Aerosmith?
I first heard of Aerosmith when I was 14yrs old. It was Christmas day and me and my brother received Guitar Hero III. We played that game a whole lot and it really helped me get into music. Well on the fifth level there was ‘Same Old Song and Dance’. So I looked more into Aerosmith and after that, I was hooked. As far as I was concerned, they were on my list of things for people to try before they die along with drinking Coca-Cola and watching Indiana Jones.

What’s your favorite Aerosmith song?
Combination, it has some mean guitar riffs in there. It made it even better to see that song played during the 2009 tour. That was amazing!

Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.

The summer right before I was heading into high school I was heading to my first concert. Aerosmith and ZZ Top were playing in Atlanta. It was probably the best experience ever. My friend and I were out on the lawn at the Amphitheater watching beach balls fly around. ZZ Top had just played and everyone, including us, was chanting “Aerosmith, Aerosmith”. Sure enough they came out and put on the best concert that I had ever seen.

Give us your funniest Aerosmith story.

On the way to my very first concert, which luckily was Aerosmith, I started to get nervous thinking “What if Steven Tyler pulls me onto the stage to sing with him. I don’t know every lyric. I’m screwed!” So I started going through every Aerosmith song I had trying to memorize each lyric. That night I never got called to sing with him, but I probably would have been too star-stricken to sing..

Give us your favorite Aerosmith lyric or quote (one liner).

Dream until your dreams come true. (Reminds me of Carpe Diem)

Tell us about yourself…
My name is Thomas, 17years old, and I’m from Augusta, Georgia. Rock N’ Roll is what I love and live. I play the drums and guitar (The real one, not guitar hero). Music is one of those simple joys that I have. I love old vintage things such as; antique lighters, vinyl records, musician signed things, movie posters.. you name it! I love to get a good laugh. People should always be smiling and having fun. Living life should be fun and I intend to live it that way!

Your favorite way to relax...

Having a cup of coffee and hanging out with some good friends of mine. That or cruise around town, windows down, listening to some good ole’ music.

Your favorite breakfast...
Coffee, a bagel, and some local news isn’t a bad way to start the day if you ask me.

Your words of wisdom...

Live life as if it’s your last. Of course don’t get yourself killed, but have fun and don’t get caught up in what others think.
