Hey, Happy New Year you Aero-freaks! I hope you had a great holiday or holidays for all you lucky people who celebrate multiple ones. Whatever, as long as you're having a great time and a good life I'm satisfied. Especially if you did it while listening to the music of our favorite band. And we all know who that is! The Beatles!…..NO, Aerosmith!..
I had a chance to get away to someplace warm and tropical over the last couple of weeks. There was a rock station there that played a lot of our stuff and I have to say it was a treat to think of all the other people there who were hearing it at the same time I was. Thanks, everybody for being fans. We do appreciate it. I also appreciate all the people who seem to be amused by some of the inane tweets I've been spewing. Hopefully I haven't embarrassed myself.
Now I'm back home in good old Boston (for security reasons that's not my exact address). It's freezing! We must be caught up in that polar vortex I've been hearing about. Oh, no, not another vortex! I'm already caught up in a few of them. I'd like to be caught up in the Aero on the road vortex but that one doesn't start for a few months.
Hopefully most of you know that we'll be doing a European tour starting in May. We're going to some new, interesting places this time. Istanbul, Kiev, Lodz, Sofia, etc. I think we've played in Lodz before but it was a long enough time ago that I'm counting it as new again. We're playing in Stockholm which is great because we haven't been there in a while. Can't wait to go back to that museum where they have that 500 year old ship that they dredged up from the bottom of the ocean. Then we have the Russia and Ukraine shows. I can't wait for those. Then it's back to Germany for the first time in years-Finally! Then it's Finland and Norway where the darkest metal is played, Denmark, where everybody looks like a movie star, jolly old England, France and finally Milano where I hope to get a discount on fashion and those incredible cookies. And maybe even get a look at the new Alpha Romeo 4C.
I guess no look at the future would be complete without a look at the past. This year basically started with the trip to Australia, where I learned that "Down Under" is more than just a part of the body. Then New Zealand and some other countries in the immediate area such as: The Philippines and Singapore. The response had us pumped up! It was great. Thanks! Our next stop should have been Jakarta but we weren't able to go. Sorry to all the fans there. I look forward to the chance to play there in the future.
Our album, "Music from another Dimension" had been out for a few months. We had hoped all the Aero-faithful would have been drooling all over it but at that point it was still dry. There's some good shit on that record, people! Come on! Study!
In the summer we took a trip to Japan to show our face and commemorate the release of our DVD "Rock for the Rising Sun". I think it came out really great. Our director Casey Tebo and sound mixer Chris Lord-Alge made it something special. I've been seeing it on Palladia and have to admit being proud of the quality of the thing.
It was only a short tour but it was enough to get us charged up for the rest of the year. Thanks, Japanese Fans!
From there we were supposed to go to China but things got bunged up somehow and we weren't able to do it. A note to our Chinese fans: We were dying to come play! We can't wait for the day when we can come over there and spew our stuff.
Next came the South America tour. We love going there because the fans are nuts - some of the most enthusiastic in the world and determined to show it. Makes it beyond fun. Unfortunately I had to miss some of the dates. I look forward to coming back and getting caught up. Thanks for all the supportive tweets!
OK, time for me to pick up that bass and get to work so I'm at my best when we hit the road. I'll be thinking about all the awesome energy sent our way by you guys. It's what keeps the machine running. We'll be in touch again soon. Until then: Keep Rockin'!!
