Hi, welcome to your new AF1 website & message board!
Here's everything you need to know about the new forums...
If you want to change your forum handle:
1) go to http://aeroforceone.com (make sure it is the new look of the site. Should not have blue logo & radar anymore. If you don't see this, please wait 15 mins and try again)
2) Click "Login" (link on top)
3) Enter your username/password
4) Click "Continue"
5) Click "My Account"
6) Scroll to the bottom of the page.
7) Change the value in the field "Bulletin Board Handle"
8) Click update
9) Now Logout and Log back in to make absolutely sure that your change takes effect (this will only need to be done the very first time you change your handle)
10) After you are logged back in, click the "Forum" link on top.
11) Now on the top right you should see a link Logout[xxxx]... where xxxx is your new forumHandle
ALWAYS LOGIN WITH YOUR USERNAME INTO THE SITE, THE FORUMHANDLE IS JUST WHAT YOU APPEAR AS IN THE FORUMS.
The forum handle [aka Bulletin Board Handle] is just your display name in the forum. Your username cannot be changed. Your forum handle can be changed. Your username logs you into the site and the forums. So if you change your forum handle, please be sure to still use your username to login
The Aero Force One website is fully integrated. Sounds important right? All it means is you can get in on everything the awesome AF1 community has to offer - with one easy registration. During the sign-up process you'll register a username, password, and "bulletin board handle" (this is your message board username that shows up when you post). So you only gotta log in once at AF1, to post on the message board, check out members-only web pages and shop in the AF1 store! Here's some help to get ya started...
Are ya already part of AF1? Then, you need to log in on the AF1 main site first. Go to www.aeroforceone.com, and see at the top where it says "LOG IN?" Sign in there and then you're ready to post on the message board and go shopping!
Are ya new and wanna post? Head over to www.aeroforceone.com/join where you can register with the "Get Your Wings" free membership. When you fill out your Profile, you'll see the last field is your "bulletin board handle." This is your message board username that everyone will see when you post. Your main site username will be your default message board username, if you don't pick another one. ** IMPORTANT** If someone else already has your desired message board username as EITHER their main site username or their message board username, you will not be able to choose it.**
Are you havin' trouble getting your chosen message board name? See "IMPORTANT" above..but let's use an example to explain how the system works. Let's say John has the username of PerryFan for his main site log in, and the message board username of DemonofLemon. Now Dick, whos username for the main site is F.Rumbahind, tries to register his message board username as PerryFan. When DIck goes to post on the message board, he'll notice that he shows up as F.Rumbahind instead of his chosen message board name. That's because PerryFan is already taken, even though it's as a username and not as a message board name. And since the default message board name is the user's main site username, Dick showed up as F.Rumbahind when he posted on the board. Get it?? SO...if your chosen message board handle is not taking, that's because it's already taken. You should try minor adjustments to it like PerryFan1 or PerryFan4Eva.
