FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Aerosmith's Steven Tyler will perform the national anthem for Sunday's (January 22, 2012) AFC Championship game at Gillette Stadium, Patriots owner Robert Kraft announced today.
Tyler and Aerosmith have strong Boston ties, and according to Kraft, Tyler "has been a loyal, good Pats fan."
Kraft also noted how Fox television, who has a relationship with Tyler for their American Idol program, allowed Tyler to perform on CBS, who is broadcasting Sunday's game.
In 1999, Tyler performed the national anthem before a Patriots-Colts game at Foxboro Stadium.
