Fan of the Week

Week of 4/21 - Ragan

When did you first hear Aerosmith?
I think I was 7 or 8 years old when I saw a guy with long hair, tight spandex pants (or a lack there of in some “areas”) and some cats in all black, wearing Adidas shoes with no strings in them singing  “Walk This Way” on MTV.

What’s your favorite Aerosmith song?
Wow, it’s so hard to narrow it down to one song!   I'm going to name a few... Dream On, Janie's Got a Gun, Rag Doll, Love in an Elevator, Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion, Amazing... however, I think I’m going to have to go with “Angel”! It’s a great rock love song; I think any Aerosmith fan would agree!

Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.
I got two for ya…
December 15th, 1998, the Nine Lives Tour at the Gund Arena in Cleveland, Oh. That was the very first concert that I ever went to! I turned 19 on December 15ththat year and I remember my mom asking me what I wanted for my birthday and I said 2 tickets to go see Aerosmith! My friend and I were clear up in the nose bleeds but we enjoyed every moment of it! That was the same year that “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” came out and we cried our eyes out when Steven Tyler sang that song! Thank you for making my birthday such a memorable one!

September 12th, 2002, Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Oh. It doesn’t get any better than Aerosmith, Run DMC and Kid Rock! We had started partying early on in the day if you know what I mean. I and a group of my friends, probably about 12 of us, all had lawn seats, which we were perfectly content with! One of my guy friends goes down toward the stage and starts talking to a staff girl. Well his charm worked so much that we all were able to go down to the stage area and move closer up front where there were vacant seats! Thank you whoever you are for not showing up and giving us the opportunity to see the best band ever up close! I got some great pics that night!

Give us your funniest Aerosmith story.
My boyfriend and I are driving and a song came on the radio. Before the lyrics even started, I said “That’s Aerosmith, turn it up”! Well Steven Tyler started singing and my boyfriend goes, that’s not him, that’s not Aerosmith. I tried explaining to him that Steven Tyler was in his early to mid 20’s when the song came out and that’s why his voice sounded different. I was so sure of myself and so was he, that we bet $120. We called my mom, my dad, his mom and sadly enough all of them thought that some other band sang the song before Aerosmith did. I even tried having him listen to Steven Tyler singing the chorus when he hits the high note. He still didn’t believe me! So finally we got home and I had him search Aerosmith “Dream On” on the computer, as soon as Steven Tyler started singing my boyfriend gave me a disgusted look like whatever. Lesson Learned: Don’t mess with me when it comes to Aerosmith!

Give us your favorite Aerosmith lyric or quote (one liner).
You got to lose to know how to win (lyric from Dream On)
“You have no idea how much it costs to look this cheap”. (Steven Tyler).

Tell us about yourself…
I’m 29 yrs old. I grew up in a small town out of NE Ohio. Moved to Orlando, Fl almost 4 years ago! I work in IT for a company called Siemens (you may insert your joke!), not what I expected, but hey, got to pay the bills somehow right?!  All around I’m just enjoying life and taking it one day at a time!

Your favorite way to relax…
On the beach or the pool with a book, my music and an ice cold drink!

Your favorite breakfast…
Pancakes, bacon, hashbrowns, and eggs with a glass of OJ or Apple Juice please!

Your words of wisdom…
We must become the change we want to see.
