Fan of the Week

Week of 11/29 - Timothy

When did you first hear Aerosmith?
Aerosmith had a constant presence on my dad's turntable when I was growing up.  I've followed them through vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD, and MP3.  I was born in '79 and I can't remember a time I wasn't conscious of their music.

What's your favorite Aerosmith Song?
I'm a HUGE fan of literally every single song from the first 5 albums.  But I go back and forth between "Seasons of Wither," "Sweet Emotion," and "Last Child," as my #1.  I'm a guy who still thinks of the "Get A Grip," album as the new stuff.

Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.
Aerosmith was my first concert ever.  It was one of the last shows in the original Boston Garden, I was 14.  That was my baptism in the waters of rock and roll's primal power.  I've done my best to play guitar in front of people ever since... whether they like it or not.

Give us your funniest Aerosmith story.
They were my first concert and my first concert T-shirt.  I wore it faithfully for about 15 years until it started falling apart and my wife wouldn't let me out of the house with it on anymore.  I still use the last few square inches of it as a guitar polish rag.

Give us your favorite Aerosmith lyric or quote (one-liner)...

"Isn't that the way?  Everybody's got their dues in life to pay."

Tell us about yourself…
Well I've been jamming in bands around Boston and the Cape for about 15 years, just enjoying myself, writing songs, having good times.  My wife and I had our first child almost 9 months ago.  It's a different world, and a rush like nothing else.

Your favorite way to relax...
With an infant in the house, if I get 10 minutes of quiet that's my relaxation for the whole week.  If I get half an hour alone with my acoustic guitar... that's heaven right there.

Your favorite breakfast...
Eggs Benedict and a Bloody Mary is always good.  Cold pizza's pretty much perfect too.

Your words of wisdom...
"There's only two kinds of music, good and bad.  I like both kinds." -Duke Ellington
